DC were recently approached to write an article for the Business Brainwaves section in the GTN publication.
On the subject of "Is your branding focused or are you missing the target audience?" Martin Dupree - MD ran through the essentials of branding and advertising.
He began: "It's a competitive world out there and things aren't going to get any easier. But the potential for growth could be more achievable if you can get the brand basics right.
Nearly every business person I speak to agrees that we’re all having to work a damn sight harder, just to stand still. Odd then, don’t you think, that if you flick through any magazine you’ll find a whole host of adverts that do little more than let people know that a product or service exists and where to buy it from? We call those adverts ‘wallpaper’ or ‘designer ads’. Some are very pretty, and I know that people sometimes spend an enormous amount of time and effort putting them together. The problem is that while us humans are working doubly hard, these adverts, and most promotional activity, isn’t working half as well as it could be. So how do we improve the ‘conversion rate’?"
