The brief was to devise a campaign starting with a video teaser for this new reel.
This fishing reel was designed to compete with others on the market that have a 'free running' function. This allows the fish to run with the bait freely before it is hooked.
The campaign revolved around the reel being launched on 1st January, so we developed a space-age approach using animated binary numbers that concluded in a teaser message 'COMING TO EARTH 0101'. A further strapline 'you can run but you can't hide' provided the direct challenge to competitors manufacturing 'running' reels.
This campaign ran as a viral email, a YouTube video and on-page advertising in leading magazines.
The YouTube video has had 23,000 viewings to date.
